Dear Friends:As the holiday season quickly approaches, the team at the Law Offices of George Castrataro, PA wishes you enjoy all the happiness the season can bring and health and prosperity throughout the coming year.We are just completing our review of the past year. The critical questions we asked ourselves in that review were: (1) did we have fun; (2) did we only represent quality people... whose company we enjoy; (3) for the size of the firm, was the firm involved in a disproportionate number of the interesting issues in its respective communities; (4) did we stay focused on the profession of law as opposed to the business of law; (5) internally did we only work with people whose company we enjoy; and (6) did we ever consciously compromise our commitment to excellence.By the measure of those questions, the past year was a wonderful year for which we are very grateful. We enjoy what we do. We enjoy for whom we do it. We enjoy with whom we do it. We enjoy how we do it. Note that not one of the critical questions asked relates to financial performance. We consistently find that if we have good answers to these six questions, the dollars take care of themselves. You might say that is no way to run a business. We would reply that that is exactly the point-this firm has no desire to be a business; it is a profession, a vocation. The Law Offices of George Castrataro, PA was founded on the idea that we must give back to our community both directly through donation and indirectly through the provision of pro bono legal services. This year the firm provided over $129,000.00 in donations and pro bono legal services. Since the firm's inception, we have provided over $700,000.00 in donations and pro bono legal services. You enable us to serve our community, and we are sincerely grateful.Several noteworthy cases allowed the firm the opportunity to litigate in areas that impact a large subset of our community. Most notable is Dousset v. Florida Atlantic University which involves an appeal of Florida's ban on same-sex marriage. The appellate case has advanced to oral arguments, and we remain optimistic that we will prevail. Additionally, the firm expanded our bankruptcy services to include the representation of several United States Bankruptcy Trustees. We look forward to a new year and new opportunities to serve you with professionalism and integrity. Most Sincerely,THE LAW OFFICES OF GEORGE CASTRATARO, P.A.
